My First Mental Health Swim – Liz
Wild swimming is something that I have wanted to try for a while now and quite literally didn’t know how to take the plunge. I came across MHS on instagram as one of the ladies that I follow is a MHS host. Tina was absolutely brilliant in explaining everything to me and putting my fears at ease.
Joining in in my first mental health swim was everything I thought it would be. I conquered my fears and gained confidence. Friendships were formed and great memories made. At the start of the session there was such a mix of nervousness and excitement but afterwards a real sense of calm was felt.
If anybody is thinking about going to a MHS I would say just go for it. Life is too short as it is, you have nothing to loose but so much to gain!
